If you know me well you will know my number one obsession in terms of Australian designers is Aje. Take away Aje from my wardrobe and well I wouldn’t have any clothing. I have fallen more in love with their pieces (if that were even possible!) as the years have gone by.
While purchasing items I go for high quality and pieces I know won’t date. I am not one to follow trends, instead opting to choose pieces I know I will love forever and are versatile in how they can be worn. Black for me is a colour I try and stay away from but in saying that recently it’s been creeping back into my wardrobe ever so slightly. Browsing online I came across the Lyons high waisted shorts and Aldama off-shoulder ruffle top. Well of course I instantly knew I needed to get them.
The Aldama off-shoulder ruffle top is elegant while remaining understated. A relaxed fit with the off the shoulder style and cropped in design, it is ideal for pairing with high waisted shorts, pants or skirts. A silk and linen blend, it is oh so comfy and slightly sheer.
Being on the petite side finding a pair of relaxed fit shorts can be difficult. Often times the proportions are off. The Lyons high waisted shorts are the perfect high waisted fit, paired with gorgeous front pleating detail and contrast stitching with d-rings on the belt. The fabric is a mid-weight linen perfect for creating structure but light weight for those hotter Queensland days. Styling wise I went for a more casual approach, a pair of Spurr mules alongside a patent black Saint Laurent clutch and of course my trusty Saint Laurent Arty ring. I’ve previously styled this outfit with a pair of black Senso flats and you could easily wear a pair of heels such as the Tony Bianco Glimmer Black Como heel or the Caprice heels in black.
